Vision is a gift of god to all of us: good eye sight is essential to each and every human being to lead a normal life. An advanced Aastha eye hospital today not only provides treatment to various eye diseases but also offers comprehensive preventive measures and thereby creates awareness on eye diseases, to avoid hindering or delaying in treating major diseases at an early stage itself. Today’s Aastha eye hospital is also involved in research and development activities thus controlling the spread of the curse called “blindness” in society.
Serving fellow human beings and offering them best possible care is my motto, and it is my vision to be one of the world’s best eye care service provider with the state-of-the-art technology at affordable cost to people from all walks of life. Taking my first step in this direction towards fulfillment of my dream was in setting up a comprehensive Aastha eye hospital in Gujarat, I want to contribute more to this field by innovations and introduction of new technologies that are on par with the best in the world. The teams of young ophthalmologists at our hospitals are constantly pursuing research and development activities to enhance the quality of surgical care that is being provided to our patients.
The fact is, that among his hunters at least, the would by all be consider a noble dish, were there not so much of him; but when you come to sit down before
I am privileged to mention that knowledge acquired through our research activities is imparted to other aspiring ophthalmologists through our regular continuous medical education programs, conferences both national and international and also workshops. We also participate in various scientific programs conducted world over to update our knowledge with the latest solutions in vision care. A point of reference is an International Ophthalmic experience as a member of diagnostic & surgical camp organised by "Jain Yoth League" at Thika,Kenya in year 2005 (1 month).
As you are aware, millions of Indians suffer from refractive errors, low vision and curable blindness. Unfortunately, many patients ignore consulting an ophthalmologist either due to negligence or lack of knowledge or at times due to economic factors coming in their way. Lotus Vision Research Trust, the charitable arm of Aastha Eye Hospital, is on a mission to render vision to the underprivileged.
Through its community outreach programmes and service camps organized in rural areas. Aastha Vision Research Trust also educates common people about the importance of vision care and treatment available in their neighbourhood that can make a visible difference in their lives. Our pursuit towards excellence does not end here. Our academic wing offers Diploma in National Board, apart from running an optometry college. Fellowship Programs with an array of experienced professionals and doctors engaged in training young ophthalmologists, Optometrists and Nurses in order to generate qualified personnel in every sphere of our activities help us carry on our crusade against blindness.
Today, when I look back at what we have achieved in the last twenty three years, I am glad to announce that we have successfully carried out more than one and a half lakh surgeries including highly complicated ones, besides 200 surgeries free of cost to poor patients. We have undertaken giant strides in this direction and still believe that we have a long way to go…
